Actively managed real estate and private equity investments

As an investment company, Pontos has the ability to impact its operating environment and the industries it operates in. We are committed to actively increasing the value of our investments and promoting sustainable practices in everything we do. We aim to be an excellent investment partner for our companies and co-investors.

New investments 

In our new investments, we focus on real estate operations and companies where real estate plays a strategic part in the business. We have established networks among investment companies, institutional investors and family offices, particularly in Finland and Estonia.

We make new investments in real estate, real estate development companies and companies that utilize real estate in a strategic way. We actively seek like-minded investors and JV partners. Our equity tickets are typically 5 to 20 million euros, but we can substantially inject equity in the ownership period.   

• Real estate business: Real estate and real estate development companies that own and manage properties in the greater Helsinki area, other growing cities in Finland possible. 
• Companies that utilize real estate strategically: companies that have real estate centrally positioned in their business or a core business closely related to properties. We primarily invest in companies with an active business and cash flow.

As an active owner we want to participate in the decision-making and developing the company, which typically means at least a board seat and significant minority ownership.

When making new investments, we analyze the investment target’s ESG impact as part of our due diligence process. Sustainability factors should already be integrated into the business or there should be a clear improvement path over the holding period.

Current portfolio of actively managed investments

Our long-term and actively managed investment portfolio includes real estate and private equity investments. We can inject substantial amounts of equity in the ownership period.

• Our real estate holdings are currently focused on Finland and Estonia. Our properties also include the sustainable regional development project in Algarve, Portugal. 
• Our private equity investments are aimed at sustainable and profitable business. Our portfolio includes companies that are innovators in their field in Finland and its surrounding area.
